The Benefits Of Writing!

This is a FREE Preview of my up coming book. Rule # 1 Never underestimate an opportunity when you have one! The benefits of writing are many… An extra $100.00 or more per month (per book) sounds good and it is realistic! (Imagine getting paid, for work you have already finished). Excuse me; I was wondering if you would pay me again, for the last month’s work I did? That’s never going to happen with a regular job!

Second Hand Store

OK, they are much the same as thrift stores or pawnshops but could include record stores, used books, used rental equipment, used computers, used anything. In hard times if someone can’t buy an item new, getting it fixed is too expensive or it is unfixable people will resort to second

Divorce Law Firms

I could have said law firms because people with lots of money will need advice and people losing everything will also need advice. If you grow your business almost to the size of needing a lawyer couldn’t you hire one and take on outside clients effectively making you a law

Repair Services

Much the same as auto repair any shop repairing anything will be in high demand in tough times. Even in our throw away disposable society, as discussing as those words are people will start taking care of things and trying to get the most from them. It will be difficult

Mortuary business

It’s not my business to say but people are always dying. In good times and bad. It’s a morbid subject but for those with a stomach for it, there is big rewards! In good times we are faced with a older population and in tough times especially a depression many

Credit Counseling

The worse things get the more this service is required. In a recession this service or in the beginning of a depression this service will see a spike with new clients but in a deep depression I believe the clients would be very limited. There is a spike of new

Thrift Stores

Thrift stores always do well because there are always people who need them. The worse things get the more people will use them! This is a business model that will survive until the day when no one has any means of buying anything pretty much. As a teen I was

Repossession Services:

Sadly yes a repossession service will always thrive at least until the banks and bankers have taken everything of value from every person on earth and I am confident that will happen one day. I am also confident that it will happen soon after if not within my lifetime.

Auto Garages

In tough times people tend to hold on to their older cars and fix them or buy a used car over a new model. It’s for that reason Auto shops will thrive or at lease until there are no more used cars and trucks available.

Debt Collection Agency’s

Against my better judgment I provided this category. Is it recession proof? To a degree it will prosper in a recession but not in a depression because you can’t get blood from a stone. For every way these lowlifes and track you down and harass you there are just as many ways or more you can avoid them if you really wanted to.

Farms, Farming, Homesteading

Farm, farmers, and farmers daughters, bless them all! Now get your mind out of the gutter and I will continue. Everyone knows farmers have it hard and that industrial farming has taken over. Farming has always been tough because, that is the life but you can produce everything you need to live for years from a farm.

Liquor Stores

It has been proven that some people just like to whip through life in an altered state. Even more of the population enjoy an occasional drink. Nightclubs and bars do well as a means of socializing but in slow times nightclubs will die off. Liquor Stores will thrive in bad times yet bars/clubs will flounder because people will drink and drown their sorrows but in hard times people will drink at home where it’s cheaper. If things get bad enough some will even risk their health and moonshine will become popular again.

Flea Markets & Farmer Markets

I have a lot of flea market experience and have sold many products there both new and used. I have made good money at the flea market and also had months where it was little more than a waste of time. I have also noticed the longer you frequent a market with the same products the less you make until it just isn’t worth the effort any more. Two ideas I have for the future are

Pizza Parlors

I do not know for a fact but I have always been told that there are huge profits to be made in pizza and in the sub business. With rising food prices it’s hard to imagine that’s still true today, but when you factor in the difference between frozen pizza’s and pizza parlor pizza the difference in cost is usually $15.00 and I can’t see it costing that much to heat up a pizza! You also have to take in to consideration frozen pizzas are made via mass production further lowering costs. Let’s say all in it costs a pizza parlor $10 to make a $20 pizza. That’s a huge mark up on restaurant business!

Photography:

Photography is a great skill to have, to be able to create the exact photo in the style you were thinking for a book, course, advertisement or project you are working on, or to be able to convey exactly the image you are looking for to a photographer!

Learn About Corporate Spying!

Oh boy, I will admit, I don’t have a lot of experience with these but I do kind of have an understanding how they work. Basically they offer Pay Day Loans based on collateral, they give you time to repay and charge a higher amount to get your item back. For this type of business you would really have to know the value of a lot of items and the actual value of some very rare items. There could be some good treasures within but the risk that you may take a bath on some items.

Vending As A Business:

I remember in grade 10 he offered to sell it to me for $12,000.00. They were starting to die off and losing popularity but if I could have, I would have. Can you imagine being 16 and having a brick and mortar business! As risky as it was, I was tempted to ask my father for the money but he hated arcades & pool halls.

Food trucks and pull behind trailers.

This is a little different animal, these are run by people who generally love to cook and are looking to buy a job for themselves. They could be people who are passionate about cooking and baking and decide to change careers. Students who leave school and decide they would rather be self employed than work for someone else. One or two people who dream of opening a restaurant and haven’t got the funding.

My crazy pet raccoon.

He’s not really my pet. Someone had him as a baby and he doesn’t know how to hunt or find food. He showed up in the yard so I’ve been feeding him and watching out for him as much as I can. He did just get into a scrap with some kind of an animal but he seems ok. He’s super friendly and follows me around. It would seem he also wants me to pet him sometimes but that’s just not gonna happen, he’s still a wild animal! Enjoy the video!
